Hello,

I have been trying to create a custom track by uploading a BED file, without success, obtaining always the error message:

"The Proxy Was Unable to Fulfill Your Request. The proxy was unable to fulfill your request because the computer at genome.ucsc.edu:80 does not appear to be functioning properly. While attempting to communicate with genome.ucsc.edu:80, the proxy encountered the following error: HTTP7769: error sending request body (IO timeout error)"

I have uploaded successfully the same file in past many times, only in the last week I have had this problem. Is that due to a temporary problem related to the genome browser?

Many thanks for you help!

Diogo

Hello Diogo,
We were experiencing some problems related to custom tracks earlier this
week, but they have been resolved since yesterday around 10AM or so. If
your problem was after that, then the next place to look for problems is
with your proxy server. One of our developers suggested two things 1)
confirm that the proxy server still has access to UCSC (certain types of
overuse will revoke access) and 2) attempt to connect via a different
route (without going through that particular proxy server).

If you are still having problems after doing #2, I would reverify the
file content to ensure no changes have been made. It does seems strange
that the same file that loaded previously now does not load. If you
want, send me the first 20 or so lines (including the header) and I can
try to load and provide feedback. Send the data text pasted into an
email directly to me (not the entire list).

Thanks,
